Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Resident Abroad, participated in the ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing on Tuesday.

This year marks the 24th anniversary of the Forum, which has become a strategic partnership between China and the African continent, grounded in the core principles of solidarity, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

The meeting was co-chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Senegalese Foreign Minister Yassine Fall, whose country holds the rotating co-presidency of FOCAC for the African continent.

During the meeting, the Chinese and African ministers reviewed and adopted the Beijing Declaration and Action Plan, which are set to be finalized by the Heads of State and Government at the upcoming FOCAC Summit, scheduled for September 4-6 in China.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Bourita to exchange views with several of his counterparts and to explore ways to enhance peace, stability, and development in Africa through active bilateral South-South cooperation.

In this context, the Moroccan foreign minister also emphasized the importance of triangular cooperation with China within the FOCAC framework, in line with royal directives.
