The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to represent King Mohammed VI at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, taking place from September 4 to 6. Upon his arrival at Beijing's international airport, he was welcomed by China's Minister of the State Administration of Financial Regulation, Li Yunze.

Akhannouch is accompanied by Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Resident Abroad, and Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Public Policy Evaluation.

A delegation of businessmen, led by Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), will also participate in the 8th China-Africa Business Leaders Conference, scheduled to run alongside the Summit.

FOCAC, now celebrating its 24th anniversary, represents a strategic partnership between China and the African continent, founded on the cardinal principles of solidarity, cooperation, and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.

Established in Beijing in October 2000, FOCAC is China's oldest regional forum. Its significance grew in 2006 when Beijing announced the creation of a $5 billion China-Africa development fund.
