Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and his Gabonese counterpart, Paul Marie Gondjout, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday in Rabat to enhance cooperation in the field of justice between Morocco and Gabon.

The MoU aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand its scope to include technical aspects of judicial administration, the exchange of expertise, know-how, best practices, and the organization of scientific meetings to leverage the strengths of both countries' judicial systems.

This agreement is part of efforts to bolster the historical and cultural ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Gabon and to support African integration. It also emphasizes the role of legislation in improving judicial administration in response to economic and social developments.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Gabonese Minister of Justice emphasized that «Morocco is a model in terms of judicial reform», noting that cooperation between the Kingdom and the Republic of Gabon in this field represents «a golden opportunity to develop our judicial system».

On this occasion, he highlighted the «longstanding and continuously developing relations between Morocco and Gabon», expressing his country's desire to «strengthen exchanges with the Kingdom for the benefit of our two peoples».

«Enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of justice will build local capacities and elevate the standard of justice in both countries to new horizons, paving the way for a bright future marked by justice and stability», Gondjout stressed.

Minister Ouahbi stated that the signing of this memorandum marks a crucial milestone in the history of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Gabon.

«This agreement is not just an official document; it is a concrete expression of a shared vision to build a strong, modern justice system capable of meeting contemporary challenges», he underlined.

In this regard, he pointed out that strengthening judicial cooperation between the two countries «will yield tangible results that contribute to the improvement of justice systems and the consolidation of the rule of law, thus reinforcing our positions at both regional and international levels».
