Sixty people were injured in a bus accident in Fez on Monday evening, according to a provisional report from the Regional Department of Health and Social Protection. The accident occurred near the Bab Guissa cemetery, on the outskirts of the city's medina, when the bus collided with a taxi before plunging into a ravine, according to local sources.
Local authorities and Civil Protection personnel were immediately alerted and rushed to the scene to assist the injured. Of the 54 people evacuated to Al Ghassani Provincial Hospital, eight remain hospitalized, including five under observation and three with fractures, according to the Fès-Meknès Regional Department of Health and Social Protection.
The same source indicated that none of the injuries are life-threatening. Six other people, including a child with minor injuries, were admitted to the Hassan II University Hospital in Fez, medical sources said.
