The 2024 summer season saw record crowds on the national motorway network, with traffic peaks occasionally exceeding 700,000 vehicles per day. This is a significant increase from the normal daily average of 400,000 vehicles, reflecting an almost 6% rise compared to the summer of 2023, as announced by the Société Nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) on Monday.

The mobilization of ADM teams, operating in full vigilance mode throughout the summer, along with various technological solutions—especially the Jawaz electronic toll system—played a crucial role in managing this heavy traffic. These efforts ensured a safe and comfortable journey for more than 2 million travelers per day on the national motorway network, according to a press release from ADM.

The total vigilance mode is an exceptional system based on proactive measures, including prior infrastructure preparation and the reinforcement of teams dedicated to assistance and traffic management. This also includes reactive actions on the ground, such as enhanced communication with users and close collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the motorway network.
