The emergency aid payments of 2,500 dirhams to families whose homes were partially or totally destroyed in the Al-Haouz earthquake will be extended by five months to allow families to fully rehabilitate their homes, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch announced on Wednesday in Rabat.

In a statement following the 12th meeting of the inter-ministerial commission responsible for the reconstruction and rehabilitation program in the disaster-affected areas, Akhannouch explained that this extension follows the conclusion of the initial 12-month emergency aid period. The decision aims to ensure that families can complete the rebuilding of their homes under the best possible conditions.

Akhannouch also urged families who have received aid for homes damaged by the Al-Haouz earthquake to accelerate the pace of reconstruction, noting that the overall reconstruction and rehabilitation program is progressing positively.
