Financial aid of 80,000 and 140,000 dirhams will be granted to families whose homes were partially or completely destroyed by the floods in the southeast of the Kingdom, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch announced on Wednesday in Rabat.

In a press statement following the first meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission responsible for the rehabilitation program for flood-affected areas, Akhannouch emphasized that this financial aid reflects the Sovereign's care for the affected populations. He added that 80,000 dirhams will be provided for rehabilitating partially collapsed homes and 140,000 dirhams for completely collapsed homes.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of the High Royal Guidelines concerning a 2.5-billion-dirham aid package for the victims of the floods. Akhannouch noted that this amount will be allocated to the Fund for the Fight against Natural Catastrophes.

He further explained that an appropriate program has been devised to address the repercussions of the floods based on fieldwork carried out by the relevant parties, which assessed the damage and the needs of the affected populations.
