Interns and resident doctors to strike in protest of government delays

The National Committee of Interns and Resident Doctors has announced a comprehensive strike on October 15, 16, and 17, 2024, except for emergency, resuscitation, and custodial services.

The strike protests the government's «procrastination» in addressing their demands. They also plan to organize local protests in university hospitals on October 14 to express their rejection of the ministry’s handling of the situation, which they claim worsens the conditions of interns and residents and affects the quality of healthcare provided to citizens.

The committee holds the government and ministries responsible for the situation's escalation, urging immediate action to meet their demands and ensure the continuity of health services. They also called on interns and residents to support the strike and rally behind the committee's offices to ensure the realization of their rights.
