In a significant step towards strengthening Sino-Moroccan relations, a delegation from Dongfeng Automobile Corporation, a leading Chinese automotive company, visited Casablanca on October 8, 2024, for strategic discussions with Global Chinese Motors, a subsidiary of Bugshan Automotive Group. The meeting, which also included a visit to the SORIAC assembly unit in Berrechid, underscores Morocco's importance as a platform for Chinese investments in Africa.

During the visit, Dongfeng explored opportunities offered by Morocco's growing market and its potential as a logistics hub for Africa. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding, paving the way for ambitious projects such as establishing a training academy focused on automotive technologies to serve Africa, developing local technical skills, and creating skilled jobs. Plans also include setting up a logistics hub for exporting spare parts to Africa and introducing electric and hybrid vehicle models to meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility in Morocco.

Li Junzhi, General Manager of Dongfeng Automobile Corporation, emphasized their long-term commitment to Africa and Morocco, while Khadraoui, Brand Manager at Global Chinese Motors, expressed pride in hosting the delegation and opening a promising new chapter for the local automotive industry.
