A large-scale anti-terrorism operation coordinated by Interpol in 14 countries, including Morocco, has resulted in 66 arrests, significant seizures, and the identification of 81 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.
Dubbed «Neptune VI», this international operation, conducted in cooperation with Frontex and Europol, took place in several countries, including Morocco. It aimed to enhance security along Mediterranean maritime routes, as well as at airports and land borders.
Over two weeks, Interpol focused on identifying and analyzing the movements of foreign terrorist fighters, individuals linked to terrorism, and criminal groups involved in cross-border crimes such as drug trafficking, arms smuggling, and human trafficking.
The operation also led to the identification of stolen vehicles and lost or stolen passports, which are often used to facilitate terrorist financing and mobility.
By the end of «Neptune VI», authorities had cross-checked 12 million data items, arrested a dozen of Interpol's most wanted individuals, and apprehended 54 others wanted for various offenses, including drug trafficking, fraud, and smuggling.
Significant seizures included 549,000 euros in undeclared cash, 10 million euros worth of gold, 25 kilograms of cannabis, 35 stolen vehicles, and several rifles and ammunition.
