The handover ceremony between Chakib Benmoussa, newly appointed as the High Commissioner for Planning by King Mohammed VI, and his predecessor Ahmed Lahlimi Alami took place in Rabat on Tuesday, in the presence of senior management from the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
Benmoussa expressed his gratitude for the trust the Sovereign placed in him and acknowledged the significant responsibilities that come with the role. He commended Ahmed Lahlimi for his leadership, particularly in managing the 2024 General Census of Population and Housing (RGPH), which he described as a landmark operation opening up new opportunities for Morocco.
Benmoussa also emphasized the trust that Lahlimi had built with citizens through a scientifically rigorous approach. In turn, Lahlimi thanked King Mohammed VI for honoring him with the Grand Cordon of the Wissam Al Arch and expressed confidence in Benmoussa's capabilities.
He highlighted Benmoussa's strong background in public affairs and his pivotal role in shaping the New Development Model (NMD), which serves as the foundation for Morocco's future vision.
