Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting in Rabat on Thursday of the steering committee overseeing «Morocco's Offer» for green hydrogen. The committee shortlisted a series of projects, primarily focused on the three regions of the Kingdom's southern provinces.

These regions include Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab. The press release from the Head of Government's department stated that these projects will undergo further detailed examination with their respective promoters.

During this meeting, the steering committee discussed the contractual framework for public land allocated to these projects and mechanisms to optimize its utilization.

This step follows the committee's previous meeting, where it reviewed the methodology for evaluating and selecting the 40 project bids submitted to the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN) by Moroccan and international project promoters seeking to produce green hydrogen and derivatives for domestic consumption, export, or both.

To ensure the successful implementation of «Morocco's Offer», framework investment agreements between the State and investors will include clauses outlining a schedule of meetings to regularly assess project progress.

The meeting was attended by Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of the Interior; Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance; Nizar Baraka, Minister of Equipment and Water; Riad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies; and Tarik Moufaddal, Chairman and CEO of MASEN.
