True to form, Google is donning Morocco’s colors to celebrate the Kingdom’s 69th anniversary of independence with the Moroccan people on November 18.

On its home page, the American giant pays tribute to the Kingdom with a doodle depicting the Moroccan flag fluttering in the wind against a background of orange-yellow sky. Clicking on the illustration provides access to a wealth of information about this historic day in the Kingdom’s history.

This emblematic day commemorates the historic speech of November 18, 1955, by the late King Mohammed V announcing the end of the protectorate and the liberation of the Fatherland.

«We are delighted to be able to announce the end of the tutelage regime and the protectorate, and the advent of freedom and independence», declared the late Sovereign on November 18, 1955, on his return from exile, continuing that «Morocco is emerging from the small jihad to embark on the great jihad».

The Californian company celebrates other national holidays with the Moroccan people every year, and regularly pays tribute to Moroccan celebrities.
