During a ceremony marking the inauguration of the Embassy of Madagascar in Rabat, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, hailed a major step in the bilateral relations between the two countries. This event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, thus strengthening a historic and privileged partnership.
Bourita emphasized that this new diplomatic representation will contribute to giving significant momentum to exchanges between Morocco and Madagascar. For her part, the Malagasy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvette Sylla Rasata, highlighted the opportunity this embassy offers to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly by drawing inspiration from Moroccan experience in various fields.
The ceremony, which brought together members of the African diplomatic corps and the Malagasy community residing in Morocco, underscores the importance of Rabat as a diplomatic capital. With this new opening, Morocco now hosts 42 African diplomatic representations, bringing the total of resident embassies to 116, in addition to 55 regional and international organizations.
On the sidelines of this event, the two officials agreed to organize the second session of the Joint Cooperation Commission, the date of which will be set later. This initiative should open new perspectives for a strengthened partnership between the two nations.
