After shining in Cannes, Venice, and Dubai, the AI Film Awards are now setting up in Marrakech, marking the launch of their African tour. Initiated by Houda Lazaar, a French-Moroccan figure in innovation, the event aims to position Morocco as a central player in artificial intelligence (AI) applied to cinema.
In partnership with the École Supérieure des Arts Visuels (ESAV), this edition will be held on December 2, 2024, alongside the Marrakech International Film Festival. Filmmakers, AI experts, and young talents will gather to explore the impact of AI on storytelling and audiovisual production.
Presided over by Nabil Bouhajra, director of TV5MONDE Maghreb-Orient, the jury will explore the challenges and opportunities brought by this technological revolution. Key activities include masterclasses, round tables, AI film screenings, and the awarding of the Crystal Brain trophies, which recognize advancements in this domain.
Additionally, preparations are underway for the AI Film Awards Africa, set to take place in Marrakech from April 14 to 16, 2025, in partnership with GITEX Africa. This global initiative will feature stops across Africa, Europe, the United States, and Asia.
