Ride-Hailing driver arrested for punching passenger

Police in Tangier have arrested a ride-hailing driver for punching a woman in public, an incident captured on video and widely shared on social media.

According to media reports, the driver got into a dispute, Monday, with the woman he was transporting, which escalated into a physical assault.

The victim filed a complaint with the authorities, prompting an investigation that led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.

He is currently in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecution as part of an ongoing investigation to uncover the full circumstances and background of the incident.

This assault comes just a day after a similar incident in Casablanca, where a cab driver attacked a ride-hailing driver and the couple he was transporting, who turned out to be a Russian diplomat and his wife.
