On Thursday, Tanger-Med Port police arrested a Danish national who was the subject of an international arrest warrant for his involvement in a premeditated murder, according to security sources.
The 20-year-old suspect was arrested as he was about to board a maritime shuttle heading to a Spanish port, the same source said. A check against the Interpol database revealed that he had been placed under a search warrant following a red notice issued at the request of his country's judicial authorities.
According to preliminary investigations, the individual is involved in the activities of a criminal gang that has planned several assaults and murders using firearms.
The suspect has been placed in police custody pending an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, with the aim of clarifying all the circumstances surrounding the case and determining the criminal acts of which he is accused.
