Moroccan scientist Rachid Yazami has secured a new patent in China for his innovative method of rapidly charging lithium batteries, a breakthrough particularly beneficial for electric vehicles.

«Proud to share that after Japan last February, it's now China's turn to grant us a patent for the fast battery charging method, particularly for future electric cars», Yazami announced on his Facebook page.

The patent, titled «Adaptive charging protocol for fast battery charging and fast charging system implementing this protocol,» recognizes Yazami's technology known as «Non-Linear Voltage». This method significantly reduces the charging time of lithium batteries.

Tests conducted in Singapore, where Yazami is based, have shown remarkable results, achieving full charge times of up to 15 minutes, and in some instances, as quick as 5 minutes.

This advancement aligns with Morocco's push towards renewable energy, highlighted by a $1.3 billion investment agreement with the Sino-European electric vehicle battery group Gotion High-Tech. This deal aims to establish a gigafactory in Kénitra.

Rachid Yazami boasts an impressive portfolio of over 200 inventions and 250 scientific publications.
