National Security agents at Casablanca's Mohamed V International Airport successfully apprehended a 32-year-old Turkish national on Sunday evening, January 12. The individual was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Turkish judicial authorities.

The arrest occurred shortly after the suspect's arrival on a flight from Tunisia. A routine check against the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) database revealed his international wanted status, linked to a prison sentence for involvement with an armed terrorist organization.

Following his arrest, the suspect was taken into custody, with plans for his referral to the competent public prosecution. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau (INTERPOL Rabat) of the General Directorate of National Security has been tasked with informing its Turkish counterpart about the arrest, paving the way for the extradition process.
