The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, welcomed Gambian Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara in Rabat on Wednesday. Tangara delivered a written message to King Mohammed VI from Gambian President Adama Barrow.
Following their meeting, Tangara expressed gratitude to King Mohammed VI for Morocco's continued support to Gambia, particularly during its tenure as the current president of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He highlighted the success of the OIC summit hosted by Gambia last year, attributing part of this success to Morocco's assistance.
«His Majesty the King, as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, plays a decisive role in the success of this Organization», Tangara stated. He also praised the initiatives undertaken by King Mohammed VI, who holds the title of Amir Al-Mouminine.
The meeting also served as a platform to discuss bilateral relations and to share perspectives on the regional situation. Both ministers aimed to align their positions on key issues affecting Africa.
