Alongside Macron, Akhannouch cut the ribbon to officially open the 61st edition, where Morocco is the first foreign guest of honor. A large Moroccan delegation attended, including Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari, Moroccan Ambassador to France Samira Sitail, and key figures from the agricultural sector and French government. The Prime Minister also signed the Salon's guest book.

This invitation underscores the strength of the Franco-Moroccan partnership and highlights Morocco's role as a regional leader in sustainable and innovative agriculture. The 476 m² Moroccan pavilion will showcase the country's diverse and rich terroir.
SIA 2025, themed «French Pride», is expected to draw over 600,000 visitors, with 1,000 exhibitors spread across 16 hectares and 4,000 animals on display.
Morocco’s guest of honor status is mirrored by another major agricultural event: next April, France will be the guest of honor at the Salon International de l'Agriculture au Maroc (SIAM) in Meknes, reflecting the strong agricultural ties between the two nations in addressing food security and water resource management.
