Moroccan kickboxing star Badr Hari is pressing ahead with the expansion of his gym network in Morocco, despite facing legal troubles in the Netherlands over recent allegations of violence. In early February 2025, Hari was arrested in Amsterdam for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, Daphne, the mother of his five children. He was released from custody under strict conditions, including a restraining order.

Despite these legal setbacks, Hari remains focused on his business ventures in Morocco. He recently opened a fourth gym under the PUNCH brand in Lissasfa, Casablanca, further strengthening his presence in the country. His other locations are in Tachfine, Socrate, and Bouskoura.

In a statement on Instagram, Hari reaffirmed his commitment to promoting sports in Morocco: «Today, I commit to contributing as much as I can, at my level, to ensure that sports and health thrive in our beloved country». Through his sports facilities, he aims to instill values such as discipline and perseverance in young Moroccans.

However, the latest allegations have once again cast a shadow over his public image. This is not the first time Hari has faced such accusations—he was convicted in 2012 for assaulting businessman Koen Everink, a case that led to a prison sentence.

While his professional projects in Morocco continue to grow, the legal proceedings in the Netherlands remain unresolved, as authorities investigate the circumstances of the alleged assault on his ex-wife.
