Morocco : BCP announces trio of new general managers

The board of directors of Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) has appointed three new general managers following a meeting held on Thursday, February 27. The appointees are Idriss Bensmaïl, now GM in charge of Retail; Abdeslam Bennani, head of Corporate & Investment Banking; and Othmane Tajeddine, in charge of International Banking, according to a statement from the group.

At 46 years old, Idriss Bensmaïl has previously held leadership roles within financial institutions in Morocco and abroad. He is a graduate of EDHEC Business School (Lille) and holds an executive MBA from Harvard Business School, the statement notes.

Abdeslam Bennani, who was previously deputy general manager in charge of the International Banking division, has 27 years of experience in the banking sector, including 14 years at BCP. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the Institut Supérieur de Commerce et d'Administration des Entreprises (ISCAE) and a DESS in audit and finance.

Othmane Tajeddine, brings over 22 years of experience at Banque Centrale Populaire. Previously serving as Deputy Managing Director overseeing the Group's Capital Markets and Investment activities, he has developed extensive expertise in finance, capital markets, and corporate banking. At 49, he holds a post-graduate diploma (DESS) in Financial and Asset Management.
