Morocco defeats Tanzania 2-0, strengthens lead in World Cup qualifiers

The Moroccan national football team secured a 2-0 victory over Tanzania in their sixth match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night at Honor Stadium in Oujda.

Goals from Nayef Aguerd (51’) and Brahim Diaz (58’, p.) sealed the win for the Atlas Lions, further solidifying their lead at the top of Group E. With 15 points, Morocco took a major step toward qualifying for their third consecutive World Cup.

Meanwhile, Niger and Tanzania remain tied for second place with six points each.
