In Spain, the autonomous government of Murcia, led by the People's Party (PP), has featured the Green March to school textbooks, an Iberian media outlet reported on Friday, March 28. The outlet, critical of the regional government's approach to Moroccan history, refers to King Hassan II's decision on November 6, 1975, as the «Moroccan invasion of Spanish Sahara».

This inclusion is part of a broader bilateral collaboration between the Spanish and Moroccan governments. The initiative falls under a linguistic and cultural program funded by Morocco and coordinated by the Moroccan Embassy in Spain, according to the same source.

The program aims to «teach the Arabic language and Moroccan culture to both Moroccan and non-Moroccan students in Spanish primary and secondary schools» while also ensuring that Moroccan students receive education that helps them preserve their identity and heritage while respecting the culture of their host country.

So far, the Polisario Front and its affiliated media have not responded to the Murcia government's decision.
