Moroccan Government adopts key amendments to strengthen National Water and Forests Agency

The Government Council, which met on Thursday in Rabat, adopted draft decree-law No. 2.25.302 amending Law No. 52.20, which established the National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF). This amendment was presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari.

This project aims to ensure the continuity of ANEF's functions and to enable its human resources to carry out their missions under the best possible conditions, stated the Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament and government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing held after the Council meeting.

To this end, the draft provides for the integration, by January 1, 2026, of seconded staff, except for those who have already been integrated before this date, as well as the modification of several expressions related to the Agency's human resources mentioned in the aforementioned Law No. 52.20, explained the government spokesperson.
