Kenitra police arrest minor for attempted robbery with fake explosive

Police in Kenitra swiftly apprehended a minor on Wednesday around midday. The young suspect is accused of attempting to rob a store using a fake explosive device.

Preliminary investigation reports indicate that the 17-year-old allegedly threatened the store owner with what he claimed was a bomb before trying to escape. An alert police patrol responded promptly, arresting him near the scene, according to a security source.

On-site technical inspections, supported by a canine unit, confirmed that the supposed explosive was merely a plastic bag filled with table salt, rigged with electrical wires. No detonators or explosive substances were found.
