Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurated the newly rebuilt Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Thursday, following extensive reconstruction works that brought this prestigious sporting venue in line with FIFA 2030 standards.
Designed to meet the demands of top-level competitions, the new venue combines modernity, sustainability, and cutting-edge connectivity, and was built by Moroccan expertise in full compliance with international standards.
The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium features Africa’s first state-of-the-art hybrid natural turf, combining grass with synthetic fibers to ensure optimal drainage, durability, quick recovery, and enhanced player safety and performance. With a total capacity of 68,700 seats, the stadium also offers three categories of premium hospitality, including 110 private boxes, five VIP lounges with nearly 5,400 seats, and dedicated spaces for people with reduced mobility.
The ultra-modern facility also boasts a large media center fully equipped to support the written and audiovisual press with all necessary technical and logistical resources. Infrastructure upgrades included five new overpasses to ease access, along with six parking areas.
Upon arrival, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan reviewed a Royal Guard detachment before being greeted by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports; the Delegate Minister to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget; the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation; the Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region, Governor of Rabat Prefecture; the Regional Council President; and senior civil authorities.
