Under the directives of King Mohammed VI, Morocco's Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch is spearheading the country's delegation at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Joining him is Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.

The assembly, themed «Better Together: 80 Years and Beyond for Peace, Development, and Human Rights», will officially commence its high-level segment on Tuesday, featuring leaders from around the globe, including heads of state and government, alongside numerous other prominent officials.

This year's session, marking the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, will delve into pressing global challenges, with a particular focus on peace, sustainable development, and the ongoing climate crisis. The high-level meeting is set for Monday.

In conjunction with this significant UN event, two pivotal summits are scheduled, concentrating on climate action and fostering a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient global economy. These initiatives are being spearheaded by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The high-level week's agenda is packed with crucial discussions, including talks on the two-state solution in the Middle East, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), strategies for preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases, promoting mental health and well-being, and advancing the goal of nuclear disarmament.
