The jury for the 23rd edition of Morocco’s National Press Grand Prix for the year 2025 was officially installed on Tuesday in Rabat, during a meeting chaired by Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid.

Presided over by Fatima Zahra Ouriaghli, the jury includes Mohammed Taoufik Ennassiri, Mouhsine Bountaj, Abdellatif Bensfia, Sanae Rahimi, Mohamed Ezzouak, Fatima Anejdam, Adil Alaoui, Mohamed Bourouis, Ahmed Arkam, and Youssef Belhaissi.

Speaking at the event, Minister Bensaid emphasized that the award aims to motivate journalists, encourage creativity and excellence, and recognize their central role in developing Morocco’s national media landscape. He also announced that 173 applications were received this year, adding that the jury will review them and select the winners to be announced at the official ceremony scheduled for December.

For her part, Fatima Zahra Ouriaghli said the meeting represents an essential step in supporting and advancing national journalism, describing the media as a pillar of information dissemination and an engine of the country’s ongoing development.

In a statement to MAP, she noted that the number of submissions rose by 30% compared to last year and by 70% compared to 2023, reflecting the growing trust in the award and its prestige among Moroccan journalists.

The National Press Grand Prix, organized annually to mark National Information Day, features several categories, including television (investigative reporting and documentary film), radio, print press, online media, news agency reporting, Amazigh-language and Hassani-language journalism, regional journalism, photojournalism, investigative journalism, and editorial cartooning.

The event also features two honorary awards: one honoring a Moroccan media figure who has made a significant contribution to the national media landscape, and another recognizing journalists working in Moroccan or international outlets.
