On Wednesday, October 29, in Rabat, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch met with François Provost, Executive Director of the Renault Group, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour. The meeting focused on strengthening Renault’s industrial ecosystem in Morocco, a key pillar of the Kingdom’s industrial development strategy under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

Akhannouch reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to deepening partnerships with leading global manufacturers, with the goal of integrating advanced technologies, boosting competitiveness, and highlighting national industrial expertise.

Following the discussions, a new amendment to the investment agreement between the Kingdom and the Renault Group was signed by Mezzour and Provost. The updated agreement aims to consolidate cooperation and enhance the sustainability of Morocco’s automotive ecosystem, with the creation of 7,500 direct and indirect jobs.

This new phase will enable Renault to begin renewing its flagship models and, in the medium term, launch a new line of electric vehicles by 2030. The group will also invest in modernizing its production facilities and upskilling its workforce, reaffirming its confidence in Morocco’s industrial platform.

The 2025–2030 development plan includes the establishment of an engineering and R&D center by the end of 2025, alongside the launch of hybrid and electric vehicle production in Morocco.

In 2024, Renault Group Morocco produced more than 413,000 vehicles, with 90% exported to 68 countries, further consolidating Morocco’s position as a major global automotive hub.
