In anticipation of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), the National Airports Office (ONDA) has upgraded the bus service linking Rabat–Salé Airport to the capital. The initiative aims to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic and reduce waiting times. Buses will now run every 15 minutes at a flat fare of 25 dirhams, with credit card payments accepted, according to an ONDA statement.
Launched in partnership with the Wilaya of Rabat-Salé, the enhanced service forms part of broader efforts to improve the passenger experience under the Airports 2030 strategy. This roadmap focuses on delivering innovative services and ensuring a seamless journey from the moment travelers arrive at the airport. As part of these improvements, a new information kiosk has been installed in the airport’s public hall, offering easier access to transport services and practical information, the statement added.
Designed as a dedicated contact point, the kiosk is intended to guide travelers, address immediate needs, and provide a simple and accessible public transport solution.
Conceived as a natural extension of the airport experience, the upgraded service facilitates smoother movement from the terminal exit and aims to leave visitors with a positive first impression of the city. A dedicated route on the airport esplanade further supports this effort by improving traffic flow and securing pedestrian pathways.
In addition, the Wetaxi service has been operating at Rabat–Salé Airport since January 5, under a protocol agreement between ONDA and local authorities.
This digital and regulated transport option offers passengers a modern, reliable, and traceable alternative for travel to downtown Rabat, Salé, and other major urban centers, with the added convenience of credit card payment.
