Early Thursday morning, a father allegedly killed his two teenage daughters inside their family home in Laaouinate in the Jerada Province, before fleeing the scene. The motives behind the crime remain unknown.
According to media reports, the victims, aged 15 and 17, died on the spot. The incident prompted the immediate intervention of Royal Gendarmerie units from Jerada, who were alerted shortly after the tragedy.
Upon arriving at the scene, gendarmes carried out initial examinations and opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office. A manhunt is currently underway to locate and arrest the suspect, who remains at large.
The bodies of the two victims were transferred to the morgue of the regional hospital in Jerada, where they are being held pending the completion of legal procedures.
