Sha'ban 1447 Hijri to begin on January 21 in Morocco

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Monday that the month of Sha'ban in the year 1447 of the Hijri calendar will commence on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

According to the ministry's statement, efforts to sight the crescent moon for the month of Sha'ban took place on Monday, the 29th of Rajab 1447 Hijri, which corresponds to January 19, 2026, after sunset. They noted that neither the ministry's delegates nor the Royal Armed Forces units involved in the observation were able to see the crescent moon.

Consequently, the statement added, the month of Rajab will extend to 30 days, and the first day of Sha'ban will fall on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
