Morocco tourism soars in 2025 with record 138 billion dirhams earnings

The tourism sector in Morocco achieved remarkable success in 2025, with foreign exchange earnings soaring to 138 billion dirhams by the end of December. This represents a 21% increase compared to 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.

«This unprecedented achievement not only surpasses the 2026 target of 120 billion dirhams set by the tourism roadmap but also underscores Morocco's transformation as a premier travel destination», the ministry stated in a press release.

Morocco's growing allure in international markets is evident, bolstered by a historic influx of 20 million visitors in 2025 and an increasingly diverse range of tourism offerings across the country.

Meanwhile, domestic tourism continues to play a pivotal role in the sector's economy, with expenditures reaching an estimated 48 billion dirhams in 2025. This highlights the significant contribution of Moroccans to the tourism industry's vibrancy.
