Local authorities in the Taza region began evacuating residents affected by rising water levels in Oued Rabiaa and Oued Dfali on Tuesday evening, after flooding inundated several nearby homes.
The situation led to the evacuation of 23 houses in the Al Malha neighborhood, within Taza city’s sixth administrative district. In addition, six homes on Sidi Abdellah Beit Gholam Street, adjacent to Oued Dfali, sustained damage. Seven families were relocated to designated reception centers, while four others sought shelter with relatives.
In response to the flood risk, local authorities mobilized a range of logistical resources, including bulldozers, ambulances, and two inflatable boats operated by civil protection services. Buses were deployed to transport families at risk, and 80 beds were prepared in social care facilities to provide temporary accommodation.
As a precautionary measure, traffic was suspended on the Asdour 1–2 bridge and in the Al Malha neighborhood, as field operations continued to contain the impact of the flooding.
