According to reliable sources, the Confederation of African Football has decided to reopen the disciplinary file related to the incidents that occurred during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.
This decision comes following an appeal submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation against the sanctions imposed after the match, which saw Senegalese players withdraw after a penalty was awarded to Morocco, before eventually returning to the field. Additionally, some Senegalese fans attempted to storm the pitch.
The same sources explained that the Appeals Committee of the continental body considered the Moroccan request to be formally acceptable. Based on this, the case will be fully reviewed, with a new hearing to be organized involving all the concerned parties.
This process will also allow the involved parties to present any additional elements, information, or evidence to support their positions.
The initial decision issued at the end of January included sanctions against both Morocco and Senegal.
