Travel revenues in foreign currency reached 31 billion dirhams (MAD) by the end of the first quarter (Q1) of 2026, marking a 24% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
This performance reflects a broader positive trend, with 4.3 million tourists welcomed, up 7% year-on-year, the ministry said in a press release.
Beyond the figures, the data points to a maturing tourism offering, with an increasing capacity to generate higher value.
Quoted in the statement, Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said the momentum reflects «a growing economic impact on local ecosystems».
She added that the objective is to «consolidate this trajectory by continuing to develop and diversify the offering, enhance the visitor experience, and strengthen the sector’s ability to create value across all regions of the country».
