Three arrested in Casablanca over violent football hooligan clashes

Police in Casablanca arrested three individuals aged between 19 and 24 in the early hours of Sunday over their alleged involvement in violent clashes linked to football hooliganism.

According to authorities, police in the Moulay Rachid district intervened after reports that a group of individuals, believed to be supporters affiliated with local football ultras groups, had engaged in violent confrontations using bladed weapons and pyrotechnic flares. Videos of the incidents were also circulated on social media.

The swift police intervention restored order and led to the arrest of three suspects shortly after the incidents occurred.

The suspects have been placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the full circumstances and motives behind the case. Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the remaining individuals involved.
