School transport crash injures 20 pupils in Berrechid

Around 20 schoolchildren were injured on Friday in a road accident after a school transport vehicle veered off the road in the douar of El Krouchiyine, in the commune of Soualem Trifiya, in Berrechid province.

According to media sources, the vehicle was heading to a local school when the driver lost control, causing it to swerve and crash into a roadside wall. The accident left several pupils with injuries and fractures of varying severity.

Royal Gendarmerie officers, Civil Protection teams, and local authorities rushed to the scene. The injured children were transported to the emergency department in Dar Bouazza to receive the necessary treatment, while some remain under medical observation.

The competent public prosecutor’s office has also ordered a preliminary investigation involving the school transport driver to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident and establish its causes.
