The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group has approved €200 million in financing for the implementation of the «Cap Compétences 2030» programme in Morocco.
The results-based financing aims to strengthen the relevance, quality, and diversification of vocational training, notably through the digitisation of services, the large-scale expansion of apprenticeship programmes, and improved pathways into the labour market, the bank said in a statement released on Thursday.
The programme is structured around three complementary pillars: «skills development and strategic partnerships; inclusive training-to-employment pathways better aligned with business needs; and digital transformation, supported by strengthened institutional and operational capacities».
The initiative is also expected to help consolidate existing systems and aligns with «the priorities of the National Employment Roadmap 2025-2030 and the Bank Group’s strategic vision centred on the Four Cardinal Points», said Achraf Tarsim.
«Our shared objective is to harness the demographic dividend to support value creation and promote employment, particularly for young people and women», he added.
The AfDB’s intervention is being carried out in coordination with technical and financial partners, with the aim of improving the relevance and complementarity of support for public policies.
Since its creation, the AfDB Group has mobilised more than €15 billion in Morocco across strategic sectors including education, health, employment, infrastructure, energy, and governance.
