Spain deports six Moroccans from Girona over criminal records

Spanish authorities have deported six Moroccan nationals with criminal records from the province of Girona to Morocco, accusing them of involvement in multiple offenses and of causing what they described as «significant public concern» in the towns where they had been living, according to Spain’s National Police.

Authorities said the individuals had been active in several towns across Girona province, including Santa Coloma de Farners, Banyoles, Olot, and Sant Hilari Sacalm. The six deportees, along with a seventh individual from Gambia, had collectively accumulated around 100 police and court records linked to various crimes.

The deportations were carried out through coordination between the National Police’s provincial Aliens and Borders unit, the Catalan police force Mossos d’Esquadra, and local police departments, following the issuance of expulsion orders.

The same sources said the operation also required administrative coordination with several official bodies, including courts, consulates, the Government Delegation, and the Secretary of State for Security. The individuals were subsequently arrested and transferred to Madrid within 72 hours before being deported by air to Morocco.
