King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to world-class Moroccan mountaineer Nawal Sfendla after she successfully climbed the adjoining peaks of Everest and Lhotse in a single push.

«We learned with immense pride of your remarkable sporting achievement in successfully climbing the adjoining peaks of Everest and Lhotse, a first for a Moroccan woman to scale these two world summits in a single push», the King wrote in his message.

On this occasion, the sovereign congratulated the mountaineer for achieving this world-class feat and raising the national colors high, the result of her sustained efforts and strong determination. He said her achievement once again confirms the skill and ability of Moroccan women to take on challenges in various fields, as well as the ambition and drive of Moroccan youth to achieve further success in continental and international sporting competitions.
