Morocco's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, officially inaugurated the Regional Specialty Hospital Center of Tetouan on Friday, June 5, in the presence of Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Wali Younes Tazi, Tetouan Governor Abderrazzak Mansouri, Territorial Health Group Director General Mohammed Akouri, and several elected officials.
The new facility, launched as part of the national program to rehabilitate and equip public health infrastructure, was built on a 3.27-hectare site with 32,300 square meters of covered space, reads a press release. It represents a total investment of 805.26 million dirhams and has a capacity of 380 beds, serving more than 1.5 million residents in Tetouan province and neighboring areas.
More than 400 medical, nursing, technical and administrative professionals have been mobilized to ensure the hospital's operations. The facility offers a broad range of specialized medical and surgical services, including general surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, orthopedic and trauma surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology, hemodialysis, anesthesiology and intensive care.
The hospital includes 150 beds for general medicine, 180 surgical beds, two day hospitals with 10 beds each, an 11-room operating block, 15 intensive care beds, 15 emergency care beds, advanced imaging services, a laboratory, a sterilization unit, and a pharmacy equipped with a robotic medication dispensing system. It is also fitted with modern biomedical equipment and an integrated information system aimed at improving patient care and hospital management.
