Under the directives of King Mohammed VI, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity will launch Operation Marhaba for Moroccans living abroad (MREs) on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
The Foundation, which is involved in implementing the operation alongside all national stakeholders, will activate its comprehensive reception system at midnight simultaneously in Morocco, France, Spain and Italy, according to a statement.
The 2026 edition builds on the reinforced framework introduced during the previous edition. It relies on a network of 26 reception centers in Morocco and abroad, ensuring a local presence at the main transit points used by Moroccans living overseas.
In Morocco, the system includes 20 reception centers located at the ports of Tanger Med, Tangier City, Al Hoceima and Nador Bni Nsar; at the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fez-Saïss, Marrakech Menara, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Laayoune Hassan I and Dakhla; at the Mediterranean, Jebha, Tazaghine and Smir M’Diq rest areas; and at the Bab Sebta and Melilla border crossings.
Abroad, six Marhaba centers will also operate at the European ports of Genoa (Italy), Sète and Marseille (France), and Motril, Almeria and Algeciras (Spain).
From June 10 to September 15, social assistance and medical support services will be available at all sites to assist members of the Moroccan community during both their arrival in Morocco and their return journeys.
Nearly 1,400 people, including Foundation staff, social workers, doctors, paramedical personnel and volunteers, have been mobilized as part of the operation to provide assistance, guidance and support to Moroccans living abroad.
This medico-humanitarian assistance system is backed by a Central Coordination Office (BCC) based in Rabat. Supervised by the Foundation, it monitors the activities of field teams, coordinates stakeholder responses to specific situations and manages the Marhaba telephone assistance service.
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the operation, the Marhaba hotline can be reached at +212 537 20 55 66 and +212 537 20 66 66 for calls from abroad; 0800002323 and 0808690793 from within Morocco; +39 35 1323 50 40 (Genoa) for Italy; +33 745 757 309 (Marseille) and +33 617 299 161 (Sète) for France; and +34 632 014 577 (Motril), +34 632 086 009 (Almeria) and +34 631 419 658 (Algeciras) for Spain, the statement concluded.
