During a visit to Beijing, Karim Zidane, Morocco’s Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, highlighted the opportunities available to Chinese companies and called for increased investment in the kingdom.
In talks with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Zidane reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to supporting Chinese investors through a «transparent and competitive framework that fosters business development».
The minister noted that economic ties between Morocco and China are rooted in the strategic partnership established in 2016, which marked a turning point in bilateral cooperation. He also emphasized Morocco’s growing attractiveness as an investment destination, driven by a series of economic reforms and the implementation of the new Investment Charter.
Zidane further highlighted the opportunities created by Morocco’s major infrastructure and development projects, particularly as the kingdom prepares to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. He pointed to sectors such as infrastructure, logistics, sustainable mobility and services as offering strong potential for expanded Moroccan-Chinese cooperation.
