NATO ammunition made in Morocco

MMI Ammunition, a prominent Moroccan company in the defense sector, is a supplier of ammunition to several NATO member armies. Situated in Casablanca's MidParc industrial zone, the company also operates a production facility in the Sidi Yahya free zone, where it primarily manufactures 30x173 mm ammunition.

In December 2021, Morocco inaugurated a military base in Sidi Yahya, equipped with air-defense systems, some sourced from China.

The ammunition produced by MMI Ammunition meets NATO's STANAG standardization agreements. As a key NATO partner since June 2004, Morocco continues to align its Royal Armed Forces (FAR) with the alliance's interoperability standards.

MMI Ammunition’s client list remains confidential. «The company’s production is directed towards official armed forces, including several NATO members», a source close to the matter informed Yabiladi.

When asked whether the FAR are among MMI Ammunition’s clients, our source commented: «It is a plausible assumption, given that the company manufactures its ammunition in Morocco.»
