Morocco demands investigation into Abderrahim Fakir death in Bologna

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad said it is closely monitoring the circumstances surrounding the death of Moroccan national Abderrahim Fakir in Bologna, Italy.

In a statement, the ministry said Moroccan authorities have requested that the relevant Italian authorities conduct a swift and thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of Fakir's death and provide the necessary clarifications. It added that Morocco has also called for those responsible to be identified and for all appropriate legal procedures to be fully applied.

The ministry said Moroccan authorities will continue to closely monitor the case as part of their commitment to protecting the rights and interests of Moroccans living abroad. It added that the Moroccan embassy in Italy and the relevant consulate general have been instructed to closely follow developments in the investigation.
