Morocco's AFCON 2025 title challenge to be heard by CAS in October

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has set October 8 as the date for the hearing on Senegal's appeal challenging Morocco's victory in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, the Lausanne-based body announced on July 24.

The appeal, filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) on March 25, seeks to overturn CAF's decision declaring Senegal to have forfeited the final and awarding Morocco a 3-0 victory, as well as to have Senegal recognized as AFCON 2025 champions.

CAS said the case will follow its ordinary procedure because the parties «did not agree to implement an expedited procedure». The hearing will be held behind closed doors, and the tribunal stressed that no ruling will be issued on the day of the hearing.

It also warned that information circulating about the case outside its official channels is «erroneous», adding that only announcements published by CAS should be considered official.
