Morocco secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Canada 3-0 on Saturday at Houston Stadium.
The Atlas Lions broke the deadlock early in the second half through Azzedine Ounahi, who opened the scoring in the 50th minute before completing his brace in the 82nd.
Soufiane Rahimi sealed the victory deep into stoppage time, scoring Morocco’s third goal in the 90+8th minute.
Defensively solid and far more threatening after the break, Mohamed Ouahbi’s side controlled the match before capitalizing on the spaces left by the Canadians to secure a deserved qualification.
Morocco will face the winner of the match between France and Paraguay in the quarterfinals.
